Southampton fans will be optimistic for next season already.
While the horrors of Spygate will still linger during the first couple of games of the new Championship campaign, with the Saints deducted four points for their prying antics, the hope will be that the point deduction becomes a thing of the past swiftly, as the South Coast side shoots out of the blocks with venom.
With Daniel Peretz and Cyle Larin tied down permanently now, as well, the expectation will be that the formidable side Tonda Eckert managed to construct last season kicks straight back into gear.
Alongside the agile stopper and the Canadian forward, being key parts of the puzzle, Dragan Solak - who has been very vocal in recent weeks - has tipped this surprise star to be a success story next season, with the Serbian owner waxing lyrical about the attacker in question.
The surprise star Solak is tipping for the top
Samuel Edozie has been in and around the Southampton first team picture for five seasons now.
Indeed, it feels like a lifetime ago since the 23-year-old first joined the building as a promising starlet from the illustrious Manchester City academy, costing the Saints £10m in the process.
He has, unfortunately, never quite looked like a £10m talent on a consistent basis on the South Coast, with only six goals and six assists next to his name from 81 outings in Southampton red and white.
However, the Saints owner remains a firm fan of the hot-and-cold number 23, with Solak even boldly declaring that Edozie can still play at the very top, despite his middling form, when looking ahead to the coming Championship campaign recently.
Speaking with the Daily Echo about transfers, the outspoken Serbian stated: "We already have two guys on the left. I have Sam Edozie, who can probably play in a Champions League club somewhere, behind Leo Scienza."
Clearly, the 61-year-old is a big fan of Edozie, despite him being largely hit-and-miss as of late.
But there is some weight to his comments, as he was once dubbed an "incredible" talent by Pep Guardiola when he was still a youngster learning the ropes at the Etihad.
It's time for Edozie to start living up to all his praise, as promotion is sought after with urgency next season on the South Coast.
Can he live up to his billing?
Previously collecting ten goal contributions out on loan at Anderlecht, who have competed in Europe's grandest competition previously, it's clear that the 23-year-old has a high ceiling.
However, in the here and now, he needs to remember that he isn't a guaranteed part of Tonda Eckert's first team in the Championship, with only 12 league appearances coming his way last campaign.
Despite such irregular minutes, the ex-England U20 international would still manage to collect three assists in all competitions, with this split second ability to carve out an opening indicative of a star who can play at the very top.
At only 23 years of age, too, it's not out of the realms of possibility completely that Edozie could have a breakout campaign, and win himself a major move to a Champions League powerhouse.
Regardless of all the praise he's been handed, the tricky number 23 must remain level-headed and hope he has a season of more consistent opportunities heading his way.
If he can remain in and around the first-team picture and light up the second tier, promotion will hopefully be won, with Edozie returning to the Premier League, pulling him closer to his Champions League level billing.
