While participating in a squad building challenge, Tyler Dibling made a major error by ignoring Southampton's all-time great Matt Le Tissier.
In Southampton's camp, it isn't hard to guess that Tyler Dibling enjoys a strong backing from the fans. Most notably because Dibling is one of the most exciting forwards the Saints have seen in a while and secondly for his never shying attitude in acknowledging St. Mary's support.
Honestly, this mutual connection is rare to achieve in English football, so, kudos to the 19-year-old for repaying the trust Southampton fans place in him.
So, could this feeling change if Dibling becomes adamant about a transfer, someday? Maybe, but there's one area where Dibling might have unknowingly upset the entire Southampton fanbase.
Tyler Dibling must apologise to Southampton fans for Matt Le Tissier mistake
That's the infamous five-a-side squad challenge where almost every player makes some debatable choices. Truth be told, no football fan should judge any player solely on these picks but Dibling's mistake can't be ignored in Saints fan circles.
As pointed out by HITC, Tyler Dibling's lineup on EA Sports FC Uncut included the likes of Kelvin Davis, Jose Fonte, James Ward-Prowse, Sadio Mane and Dusan Tadic.
I know there's someone missing, and if you didn't notice it, that's iconic Saint Matt Le Tissier.
Without a doubt, the greatest Southampton star of all time who was denied a spot in Dibling's attack, where even unsung heroes like Dusan Tadic did. Now not to discredit any of these former players, but Le Tissier is simply on a different level in terms of both his on-field genius and his loyalty to Southampton.
Hence, an apology is due from Tyler Dibling for downplaying Le Tissier's significance who has inspired different generations of elite players as well as managers.
