Southampton heads into their away clash with Wrexham up next in the Championship full of confidence.
Leading into this trip to Wales, the Saints have won back-to-back home games, scoring seven goals, as the likes of Bristol City and Swansea City were swept to one side comfortably by Tonda Eckert's fearsome attacking arsenal.
They have, however, struggled on the road at points this season, with a somewhat flat 1-1 draw with Lincoln City starting September.
At the time, it would have been viewed as a drab result against a newly promoted team, but the Imps have shown across recent matches they're a very tough team to play against and break down.
Southampton can now reframe Lincoln result
Indeed, when the result was still fresh, there would have been a lot of groans from the away end that Southampton didn't comfortably overcome the Championship newbies.
Yet, they didn't have plentiful opportunities, minus Leo Scienza's second half solo effort which wildly clipped both posts, so a Welington screamer hitting the back of the net with some venom was their only strike of the day.
Looking back at that competitive 1-1 draw, the Imps had actually more shots - coming in at 19 to the away side's 16 - so they were good value for that late equaliser, which Nathan Wood failed to stop.
Since then, they've also been on a roll, playing their well-drilled system, with back-to-back 1-0 wins secured on the road at Preston North End, and the Robins, who Southampton pummelled 4-1 with their on-fire attackers.
Clearly, the reigning League One champions are going to be a stern test this season, and with that draw being collected, the South Coast giants would be joint top of the second tier pile, if it hadn't been for a four point deduction being handed out.
At the end of the day, sometimes picking up a draw is a result you have to stomach, even if Flynn Downes has said in the past that it could "kill" the Saints as they make up ground, as Lincoln - despite their newly promoted status - are no walkovers.
Wrexham won't be walkovers, either, despite just losing 6-0 to West Ham United, with another draw on the road at the Racecourse Ground not the end of the world, if it had to be swallowed.
The Saints can afford to pick up more draws
Downes clealy said that comment from a place of hot-headedness, as he wants Eckert and Co. to be in the title running.
But, ticking over nicely with draws on the road, and then picking up comprehensive wins on home soil, can be Championship-winning form, as well.
Last season, both Coventry City and Ipswich Town drew 14 games combined on their way to achieving automatic promotion glory.
So far this campaign as well, West Ham have convincingly put teams to the sword on their own patch, but have settled for two away draws from three games away from the London Stadium.
Of course, a win would be preferred, especially as Southampton smashed the Red Dragons 5-1 on their last league trip to Wales.
But, there doesn't need to be a mass panic at this early stage in the season if a draw was the final scoreline, with Eckert's men likely content with a draw - in the here and now - against Lincoln, when the result felt like a stumble when first processed at Sincil Bank.
