Southampton’s poor start to the 2018/19 Premier League campaign will only strengthen calls for the board to invest in the playing squad this January.

With around six weeks of Premier League football to be played until the transfer window opens again, upcoming matches will decide whether action needs to be taken to improve the options available to Mark Hughes.

Rumours of incoming and outgoing players will be strong and the club will most likely be linked to a range of players in media reports.
