Wednesday-Thursday

The end of the week’s polls brought about two more hypothetical questions for the Saints fans to ponder, one regarding their own player and one regarding a player of another team.

With Sofiane Boufal facing heavy criticism from the fan-base for his lack of goal and assist contributions so far, we ran a piece looking at whether his debut season in England can be considered a success.

The poll that followed gained some serious traction with over 100 votes in total, but the majority of the fans were in agreement that they needed more time to judge.

Despite making 23 appearances in all competitions Boufal has just two goals to his name, but he is averaging under 40 minutes per game for the Saints. Add that to injuries and a trip away with Morocco in January and it’s difficult to fully analyze his success.

Despite support from some fans however a solid 20 percent think that Boufal has underperformed this season, especially when you consider that he’s the club’s record signing at a reported £16 million.

The week’s final poll, which will now always be on the Thursday, was much more hypothetical than previous transfer polls.

On Thursday Sky Sports announced that Burnley’s Michael Keane would leave the club at the end of the season. His stock has been increasingly rising since his England call-up, and now Liverpool, Manchester United and Everton are all reportedly battling it out for his signature.

However, nearly three-quarters of fans feel like the Saints should at least try and bring the man in, even if he rejects the side to return to Manchester United or to link up with former Southampton boss Ronald Koeman.
