Uncertainty intensifies as reports leaking of Puel Southampton departure this summer
It has been something that has been criticized since the minute Claude Puel walked through the door. The minute that he arrived fans have been ready for him to leave.
Although this is not a good way to do your job: knowing that everyone wants you out, that is the circumstances he has set upon. It is now reported that fans may get their wish, and the Frenchman will be gone at the end of the season.
Despite being in the top ten, leading his club to the EFL cup final, and bringing in a top-class signing in the transfer window, that does not seem to be enough. Fans do not like his ‘boring’ style of play and too many times they’re left scratching their head from his substitutions.
This last game leading in a 0-0 draw at home to Hull City seemed to be the turning point. There were obvious heckling from the fans after Dusan Tadic failed to convert on a penalty in the 90th minute.

A French publication is now reporting that the club is ready to part ways with the former Nice boss. Which would be shocking to the rest of the Premier League. This type of decision would not be addressed until the end of the season.

An issue that seems to be occurring with the Saints is the turnover in management. If Puel were to be let go from the squad, it they would be searching for their forth manager in under three years. The previous preceding the matter were Mauricio Pochettino and Ronald Koeman.
This could create an issue of a manager wanting to be with the club. Managers will coach out of fear of their job rather than doing their job fearlessly. This is something as a manger that can be extremely important.
At the end of the day, this will be a lose-lose situation. If Puel stays and does not have the fans behind him, it could lead to even more tension. If Puel were to get sacked, why would anyone want to come here knowing they have a clock for only a year to find success?
