With high profile transfer rumours continuing to surround Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Bertrand, the future of the Southampton right-back position is the next to come under scrutiny.

Previously linked with a somewhat surprising switch to Barcelona, Cedric Soares is now reportedly a target for Italian giants Juventus.

With Cuco Martina leaving to join Everton earlier in the summer, the loss of Cedric would see Saints with Jérémy Pied as the sole first team player in that position. Pied played just a single game for Southampton before his season-ending knee injury last August.

He is still an unknown quantity in the Premier League, and Saints should at least be looking to recruit someone who can challenge him for the first team role.

Here are three that they could consider.
