Daniel Levy could yet make the Spurs’ first summer move if reports are to be believed, as the club are strongly linked with Southampton stopper Paulo Gazzaniga.
According to the Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are looking to part ways with around £2 million in order to secure the services of Paulo Gazzniga.
Managed by former Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham are in need of a third-choice stopper, with only Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm formally among their ranks.
The Spurs are yet to make a play this summer, something which has been highly followed by the sporting media. However the acquisition of the Argentinian probably wouldn’t excite their supporters too much.

Pochettino managed Gazzaniga during his short, 18-month tenure on the south coast, but despite hailing from the same nation he wasn’t the man to bring Gazzaniga to the club.

The 25-year-old made nearly 25 appearances in all competitions for the Saints across his first four years at the club, before getting loaned out to Rayo Vallecano last time around. It was believed that the Spanish outfit were keen to take Gazzaniga on permanently, but nothing ever materialized.
Despite having been at the club since 2012, the former Gillingham man has spent much of his time with the Under-21’s and Under-23’s, and despite Harry Lewis’ departure is still deemed surplus to requirements, with Fraser Forster, Alex McCarthy and Stuart Taylor all on the club’s books.
It’s therefore unlikely that Southampton would stand in his way if he did chose to go to North London, although fans would argue that at 25 he should look for more solid first-team football.
Gazzaniga failed to set the league alight when given his chances at Southampton over the years, meaning his odds of getting much football with the league-challenging Tottenham are even slimmer.
