Today Southampton play host to West Ham in what is a must-win game for the Saints supporters.

Ahead of today’s eagerly anticipated fixture at home with West Ham, I got the chance to ask a fan of our opponents on what they thought on West Ham and the game itself.

Some answers are what you’d expect and others are rather interesting to read on the behalf of an outsider to West Ham.

Thank you to Matt Logue for helping us out with the answers!

Q: What do you think of West Ham’s chances in the League this season?

A: I think with the players we have brought into the club we should realistically be challenging the 7-10 part of the table but because of defensive frailties I expect us to finish 10th.

Q: What do you think of Southampton’s chances in the League this season?

A: Southampton have in the past few seasons changed managers and sold big players and always manage to finish high in the table. I think although the VVD saga is going on and the transfers incoming are non-existent I still expect a top ten finish from the Saints as the team are just solid.

Q: West Ham have had a few injuries, who is set to return for Saturday’s game?

A: Antonio is set to come back into the squad which is good for us. Lanzini is still injured but Kouyate is a maybe so hopefully we see him come in. Carroll is still injured so don’t expect him back anytime soon.

Q: Who should be the main man for West Ham that Southampton should look out for?

A: For me the man to look out for from West Ham has to be Hernandez. His goals tally over his career is really good and he is always gonna be a threat. I would also say Arnautovic purely because these are the types of games that he shines in.

Q: What is your prediction for the game and what are you thoughts on it?

A: I can easily see this game finishing 1-1 and we haven’t had the best of luck against saints in the past and I don’t expect that to change this time. I see us trying to play balls in behind to Hernandez. I think Southampton’s lack of goals against a poor Swansea side is a positive for us because if we can stop you from scoring we have a really good chance to win the game.
