Matt Targett – 67 – 67
After spending the majority of last season out with a niggling hamstring problem, Targett is unlikely to see his rating change massively, and a 67 overall will likely stay for another game.
Targett showed glimmers of potential in pre-season against Saint-Etienne but is yet to get some serious game-time this season, and was even close to securing a loan move to Newcastle on deadline day.
With the left-back not being hugely well-known, there’s a good chance he could see his rating slip to 66 or 65 knowing EA, but remaining as he is is still the most likely outcome.

Sam McQueen – 63 > 66
Sam McQueen is likely going to get a tidy little upgrade, but his rating will be capped due to the fact that he will likely see his base card on Ultimate Team move from a left-midfielder to a left-back.
Because the young man’s best stats are his passing, dribbling and pace, his in-game stats will naturally better-suit an attacking player, despite his solid transition from winger to full-back.
Nonetheless, McQueen warrants a solid upgrade, and 66 seems fair.
Jeremy Pied – 75 -75
Pied is another man who could see his overall lowered by EA, despite the fact that his season out injured was entirely out of his control.
However, after a decent pre-season and return to fitness, the Frenchman deserves to retain his 75, which stands at a decent overall for any back-up right-back in the Premier League.
If Pied was to get downgraded then his base card on Ultimate Team would go from gold to silver, which feels unjust for a player who hasn’t really put a foot wrong in a Saints shirt.
