6.5. Yoshida has started off this season just like he finished last season. Although the defensive shape did help the centre-back, 29-year-old dealt with Christian Benteke well and it’s good for him that his team kept a clean sheet. Not only did the recent signing show his defensive skills, Hoedt has a great passing range on him. Multiple times we saw the Dutchman spread the ball out to Redmond who could then start a counter attack. Despite Yoshida’s experience, Hoedt’s place in the team shouldn’t be under threat..
