Southampton: Pellegrino confirms team news for West Brom
By Chris Hughes
Ahead of Saturday’s evening kick-off against Tony Pulis’ WBA side, Mauricio Pellegrino has confirms his own team’s injury news.
Only Jeremy Pied is set to miss the encounter, as he continues to fight a niggling and on-going injury.
The French right-back has only played once so far this campaign – in the Carabao Cup against Wolves – with Cedric Soares being a mainstay in the Southampton defence so far this season.
In his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against West Bromwich Albion, the Argentinian confirmed that the Frenchman will be absent for the encounter with the Baggies:
"“We have Jérémy Pied that is coming back, he is the only one who is in trouble right now. Nothing else.” – Pellegrino"
Southampton go into the game against West Brom after three games without a win, following two back-to-back losses and a draw against Newcastle United this past weekend.
West Brom are one point and one place above the Saints going into Saturday’s later kick-off, meaning the points could prove vital in the battle for a top-half finish.

What’s more, Pellegrino’s side still have to face five of the league’s ‘big six’, meaning picking up points against opposition of a similar stature is imperative heading into November and December.
The 46-year-old is confident that his side can take the momentum of a two-goal effort against Newcastle United, and produce a good performance this Saturday.
"“We have to start from the beginning playing in this way to show we want to win from the first minute.“We have to give our best to show to the people that we want to win, and I think the crowd will be behind us.”"
Following the game against WBA, the Saints have the task of facing a promoted Brighton side in their only away game of the month – if they fail to win at home against the Baggies then the game against Brighton could prove even more important for the season.
Southampton versus West Brom kicks off this Saturday, with a kick-off time 5:30 PM.
