Sofiane Boufal

That’s what this man is capable of.

Like many at St. Mary’s, I wondered what he was doing when he twisted and turned on the ball in his own half so late in the game. But as he beat the first two West Brom players, you could feel everyone shift to the edge of their seat.

Two more players were taken out of the game as he made his way to the edge of the box, and then the coolness of the finish was brilliant. There’s absolutely no excuse for Boufal not starting against Brighton next weekend now.

The relief shown from the players and fans when the goal went in summed up just how tough their recent spell has been, but seasons can turn around after wins and moments like that. The signs are more positive, so lets hope that’s the case.
