Southampton 0-1 Burnley: Three key players

The Fans
I decided that I couldn’t pick another player who deserved to be in this piece. So I decided that the 30,000 that turned up to watch Mauricio Pellegrino’s men’s put in a below average performance deserve some of the credit. Having to watch that boring and dire display for 90 minutes is not what anyone wants to be doing with their Saturday.
However, St Mary’s is starting to become a negative problem for the players. It feels like it’s starting to put them on edge because if they make a mistake they’re going to get hammered by the fans.
The form we’re in and the football we’re playing isn’t good or fun to watch, but now is the time to get behind the team as much as possible. We need to create an atmosphere where the players want to play and enjoy their football, not playing with fear.
