Man City vs. Southampton: Opposition threat

Kevin De Bruyne

It was big toss up between Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva as the biggest threat from Man City’s midfield, but I decided to go with the Belgian. De Bruyne has picked up six assists and three goals from midfield, but it’s his general play that has made many people call him the best player in Premier League.

Without wanting to use a cliche, KDB could pass through the eye of the needle. Playing slightly deeper in midfield than he previously has for Man City, has allowed him to get on the ball in space more frequently and show off his superb passing ability.

He could have picked up many more assists too, The former Chelsea man has played 17 through balls, six more than anyone else in the league.

If Southampton are to get any kind of result out of the game, it will take very careful planning and not allowing this man any time or space on the ball. Otherwise he could definitely  punish you.
