Goalkeepers and defenders

8. Forster continues to display renewed confidence in himself.  His save against Aaron Ramsey, diving low to the corner, was a save he has not made in recent memory.  Showed his strength in catching crosses on a windy day, and made a key save on a Alexis Sanchez free kick.. Goalkeeper. Southampton. FRASER FORSTER

Right centre-back. Southampton. JACK STEPHENS. 7. Making his first appearance since the 9th of September against Watford, he showed little rust.  Dealing with an Arsenal trio of Sanchez, Ozil, and Lacazette is not easy, but he stood to the task.  Believe he displayed enough to warrant more opportunities.

6.5. Yoshida had few memorable moments, and was all-around solid.  However, his one key play was failing to put a body into Oliver Giroud prior to the equalizing header.. Centre-Back. Southampton. MAYA YOSHIDA

7.5. Effectively marshaled the back line, and took Lacazette out of the game entirely.  Let Giroud sneak between him and Yoshida for the goal, but to criticize him for that single piece of defending would be harsh.  Needs to score from a set piece one of these days.. Centre-back. Southampton. VIRGIL VAN DJIK

RYAN BERTRAND. 8.5. Has been very good taking on the sole wing back role with Cedric Soares out.  All the attack was down the left side today, and Bertie was a large part of that.  Could have sealed the game when he found himself one-on-one with Czech in the second half.  Was excellent marking the speedy Bellerin.. Left-back. Southampton
