Aaron Mooy, the Australian signed on a permanent basis for Huddersfield this summer. The former Manchester City man aided The Terriers in their promotion winning 16/17 Championship campaign.

The midfielder is currently tied top goal-scorer for Huddersfield, on four goals, impressive for a central midfielder. He also leads in most passes and tackles, very much giving the sense that he is what makes the West Yorkshire club tick on the pitch.

Southampton will hence need to be careful of this, and therefore look for someone to man mark him out of the game.

Giving Mooy the opportunity to play the ball to his own accord could result in loss of possession, and tendency for a killer ball to be played. Southampton’s defence has been very leaky of late so will need to avoid being exploited in this way.
