6. It was a quiet evening for the young Englishman, his set piece deliveries always offer a threat but he spent most of this game chasing shadows. 6. Hojbjerg battled hard in the centre of midfield winning  back possession multiple times. However, his use of the ball left a lot to be desired. The Saints midfield struggled to retain possession for long periods and gave the ball away far too frequently. Hojbjerg always fights hard and is one of the few leaders in a Saints side lacking them, if we Championship football becomes a reality then keeping hold of the young Dane would be high on my list of priorities.. Southampton. ORIOL ROMEU. 6. The Spaniards return to the team has brought a bit of fight and steel back to the saints midfield. Romeu and Hojbjerg as a central pivot are solid but unspectacular, and it showed. Saints lacked any sort of pace or directness in midfield and created very little going forward.. Centre-Midfield

Tadic is enjoying his free role under Mark Hughes, while he operates mainly from the left he has tended to drift infield in order to create, against Chelsea i thought he was superb and looked really menacing. Leicester kept the Serbian under tabs and he, like the rest of team didn’t do a lot going forward. If Saints are to survive Tadic’s ability to supply quality in the final third will be key..
