Wesley Hoedt

The Dutchman has been criticized for his performances and commitment recently but he was arguably the Saints’ best player yesterday.

The ex-Lazio defender made seven clearances, two interceptions and another two tackles as the 24-year-old enjoyed a much more solid game for Mark Hughes’ team.

Against West Ham, Hoedt was arguably at fault for Arnautovic’s second having played poor all half but yesterday was a better reminder of why the Saints spent more than they have on any other defender for his signature last summer.
