Positivity towards Hughes clear to see

Mark Hughes has managed the situation brilliantly since he has come in and has rightly been lauded for his work by fans and players.

The Saints fans were clear in their appreciation of the Welshman after the final whistle; singing his name as he made his way round the pitch during the lap of appreciation.

Post-match interviews with players including Dusan Tadic also helped to show the effect he has had on the group. Previous matches have also seen widespread praise from squad members.

After two failed managerial appointments in the last two seasons, surely the board can only see one man to take the club forward again.
