Mason Mount (Chelsea/Vitesse)

The second young player on this list to currently ply his trade with one the league’s big boys, I believe the Saints need an injection of high-quality youth and Mount is another who could be great for the squad.

Whilst Josh Sims and Matt Targett still have potential, the Saints haven’t had a huge amount of talent come out of their academy in the last year or two and could do with some youthful additions this summer.

Last year Mount spent the year in the Netherlands with Vitesse, scoring nine and assisting a further eight playing as a centre-attacking midfielder.

Whilst some optimistic Chelsea fans will hope that Mount can feature in their first-team this season, the Blues have gained a sour reputation for not giving their youngsters a chance, meaning another loan out may be right for the teenager.

The 19-year-old may not become a regular first-team player at Southampton, but having the squad depth is crucial to a good season.
