Southampton have given a date for the release of their brand new Under Armour kit for the 2018/19 season.

The club announced that the new designs would be first shown on the 16th June and that there would be some exciting additions to the range that Southampton fans can buy.

Home and Away strips will be available to purchase, but the club is also releasing a third kit that fans can buy for the first time since the 2007/08 season.

In the past two seasons, the predominantly white third kit has been a favourite of the Saints fans and there have been calls for it to be released for the public too.

The announcement on the club website stated that there would be a delay in the away strip being available, but that the home shirt would be in stores from the 29th June.

The 2017/18 campaign saw Southampton return to a retro style for their home design. It was similar to a style from the 1980s and was well liked by the St Mary’s faithful.

Positive views were also given for the special announcement. A unique video depicting some of the first-team players as super heroes was a hit on social media.

Under Armour became a club partner for the Saints in July 2016 and agreed to a seven-year deal to provide the club with kit and new technologies to further their performance.

The same season also saw Southampton join up with Virgin Media on a three-year deal and they became the main shirt sponsor as the Saints looked to boost their off-field revenues and exposure.

It remains to be seen what style each of the new shirts will be given, but there have been a range of different colours and designs in the past.

Yellow has been a particular fan favourite for the away kit colour in the past and the club wore it in the 2003 FA Cup final and also in the 2011/12 campaign.
