Southampton have reportedly received offers for three of their academy products ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline day.

It has been a quiet last week of the transfer window for the Saints so far but a number of deals could still be on the cards if significant breakthroughs are found.

The club were said to have received a £10m offer from Watford for midfielder James Ward-Prowse yesterday, but Sky Sports News now understands that the Hornets want to complete a loan deal for the 23-year-old.

However, the same report states that any loan offers for the player will be turned down as the club see him playing a part for Mark Hughes’ side in 2018/19.

Ward-Prowse has struggled to hold down a key role on the Saints team in recent years despite being a favourite of many fans as a proud representative of the club.

More from Saints Marching

Interest from Fulham in Left-Back Matt Targett has seen the Cottagers make a number of offers to take him in a permanent deal.

In a new development, TEAMtalk are reporting that a new bid of £14m has been lodged by the London club following his successful loan spell with them last season.

Saints have time to consider this offer for the 22-year-old who is likely to be second-choice behind Ryan Bertrand if he chooses to stay at St Mary’s for the upcoming campaign.

Fellow Left-Back Sam McQueen has been subject to interest from Championship clubs this summer, and it looks as though Bristol City may make a move for him before 5pm tomorrow.

An exclusive report from Pete O’Rourke for Football Insider reveals that McQueen has become City’s top target as they look to replace Aston Villa bound Joe Bryan.

Southampton are unlikely to be open to deals for both Targett and McQueen with at least one of them needed to give options for a variety of positions in Mark Hughes’ squad.
