Selhurst Park awaits the Saints  this Saturday afternoon as Mark Hughes men search for their first three points of the 2018/19 campaign.

Both teams come into the fixture on a high from there midweek triumphs- with Southampton and Crystal Palace coming out of their cup ties on the right side of a 1-0 result against Brighton and Swansea respectively.

Both dugouts will also be mighty happy with their results due to the fact they both played second string sides – with Wilfred Zaha and Danny Ings among other key players not even travelling with their respective sides.

Although each side are in the hat for the next round – their prior weekend results did not breed the same success. Whilst the Saints gave up a point late against Leicester, a 78th minute goal for the eagles away at Watford was not enough to take anything home from Vicarage road – and means both teams have lost back to back league fixtures.

Despite this, Crystal Palace sit above the south coast side in the table as they picked up three points against Fulham on the first day of the season – while Southampton are still searching and are keen to end a three game winless run in the 2018/19 campaign.

Saints fans will be looking at this game in hope of a repeat of last season – with Southampton picking up their first away three points under Pelllegrino at the home of the eagles.

However, that win came against a Palace side that are barley a shadow of what they are coming into this upcoming game – even though they bare a high amount of the same players. As a result, what opposition players should Saints fans look out for in the upcoming fixture?
