Newcastle still pose significant threat

Despite their poor start, Newcastle still have some very decent players at their disposal.

They have been boosted by the return of Salomon Rondon this week after he recovered from a thigh injury, and the Venzuelan could play a part today.

Other players such as Jonjo Shelvey and Kenedy have also proved difficult for Saints to deal with in the past. Shelvey’s passing and shooting ability is a danger, whilst Kenedy’s trickery saw him net twice against Saints last season.

Mark Hughes mentioned in his pre-match press conference that Benitez’s side will still be threat and that they must not be underestimated after their tough start to 2018/19.

Saints home form must improve if they are to avoid the trouble of last season, and that needs to start today.
