Southampton vs Leicester Carabao Cup tie given new date
By Marc Walker
The postponed Carabao Cup tie between Leicester City and Southampton at the King Power Stadium has been given a new date.
This game was originally meant to be played last Tuesday but the tragic helicopter crash outside the Foxes ground last weekend saw the game called off and rearranged after five people – including club chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha – were killed.
The two sides will now go head-to-head on Tuesday 27th November; three days after Saints make the trip to Craven Cottage to face Fulham in the Premier League.
Manchester City or Fulham await the winners of the Fourth-Round tie, and they play at the Etihad Stadium tonight looking to also reach the last eight.
Saints and Leicester have already met once this season, with Harry Maguire’s late strike seeing Claude Puel’s side take away the three Premier League points from St Mary’s.

Tributes to Foxes chairman Srivaddhanaprabha are likely to last a long time given the legacy he leaves behind at the club. He oversaw the historic league title win in 2015-16 and gave significant sums of money away to good causes in the city.
The Saints players and fans may well be welcomed to join in those tributes when the tie is played later this month to which they will surely oblige given the way Leicester’s title win opened up the whole league to every team.
Mark Hughes’ side face their third Premier League opponents of their Carabao Cup run with this game after seeing off both Brighton and Everton to get to this stage.
That total will become four if they progress past the Foxes and meet either Manchester City or Fulham in the Quarter-Finals.
Facing Leicester sees many players come up against the manager that took them to the 2017 final of this competition. Claude Puel was in charge when Saints got to Wembley but fell to a 3-2 defeat to Manchester United.
