Gary Cahill to leave Chelsea on-loan

Saints were linked with a move for Cahill back in October and it now appears that the England international will leave Chelsea in the near future.

The Guardian reported last week that Chelsea would allow Cahill to leave Stamford Bridge on-loan in January so that he can get some first-team football towards the end of his career.

He has fallen out of favour under Maurizio Sarri and has made just six appearances this season.

Leadership and experience aplenty would come in if Saints were able to get a move for Cahill over the line, but they will need to consider how many further years of service they can get from him at 32 years-old.
