Southampton: Three potential managers linked to Southampton
With the sack ever looming over Mark Hughes head, the rumors are flying and the list of potential replacements grows by the day.
With one win on the season and now sitting joint-bottom of the league, potential replacements for Hughes have started to emerge and The Mirror is reporting three names that are favorites to take over if the Welshman gets the ax.
The first, is current Celtic manager and ex-Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers, has had amazing success during his current tenure in the Scottish Premier League. He is carrying a nearly 70% winning percentage and winning two titles in two season and on pace to win a third.
It would take some convincing to get him to leave a title winning team but the prospect of coaching in the English Premier League again and the chance to win over a whole fan base could be enticing.
The second name on the list is, Peter Bosz. Bosz, most recently coached Borussia Dortmund (for half a season) and Ajax before that. He was sacked from BVB last Christmas after failing to win a match in their Champions’ League group and struggled mightily in league play.

His one season at Ajax went much better, having only missed winning the league title by a single point. Currently, he is not managing and would be hard to imagine he turns down a Premier League side if offered the job.
The third and final name on this short list is, one many Saint fans have been dreaming about, Leonardo Jardim. The Ex-Monaco manger has been out a job since getting sacked earlier this season for Thierry Henry. His time at Monaco was impressive to say the least. In 232 matches in charge of the French side, his team managed 125 wins (53.88 winning percentage) and had a goal differential of +152 and of course, one league title.
Jardim, would be a bit of a stretch for a club that is in the state Southampton is in to sign. Surely, he will have bigger clubs who are in better situations offering him jobs but again, the Premier League is an enticing league for mangers and the opportunity to coach in it might be too much for him to pass up.
With the board apparently giving Hughes a little more time to turn things around, the search for a replacement will continue. Out of the three managers listed, Jardim would clearly be the best option but Rodgers and Bosz seem the more likely to take on the role.
