Not many people have had a season like Ryan Fraser’s so far and it has drawn the interest of clubs like Southampton and Everton.

The 24-year-old has collected 5 goals and 9 assists already this season in the Premier League and the other teams have taken notice. Apparently, Everton are preparing to launch a bid for the Scot somewhere around the £15 million mark.

It will be hard for the Saints to compete with a club that has the financial power like Everton but £15 million will not break the bank and the opportunity to play for a manager like Hasenhuttl could be enough to entice the Scot to stay on the South Coast.

More from Saints Marching

A player, like Fraser, would offer an immediate impact on a team like Southampton who have had issue scoring goals in the past. He is strong on the ball and his assist numbers alone tell you how good of a passer he is. With the departure of Gabbiadini and Davis, and certainly a few others to follow, that will free up the funds and the space for the Saints to pursue a proven Premier League player.

More likely than not, nothing will materialize from this rumor. If Everton really want him they will not give a club like Southampton the chance to snag him from them. But, the slim chance that it does come to be Fraser would be an impact player and would really help solidify our position in the League and relegation will be a thought of the past.

Over the next two weeks the rumors will continue to fly. I expect a few more players to be sold before anyone is brought in. Hasenhuttl, knows what he wants in a player and he will have to be convinced they will be good for the squad before any cash is splashed this January.
