Chris Mepham – Centre-Back, Brentford

One of the key areas that Saints may choose to strengthen in this transfer window is their defence.

It appears that Brentford Centre-Back Chris Mepham may be high on their list of players they want to bring in this month, with a report from skysports.com confirming their interest.

If Saints are to convince Mepham to join, they may have to make a significant offer to Brentford after Bournemouth had a £10m bid rejected in the summer.

The Welsh international has been a regular for the Bees in the last two years and has made 48 appearances so far whilst also picking up four senior caps for Wales.
