Hoedt to join Celta Vigo

It hasn’t worked out at all well for Wesley Hoedt at St Mary’s and it now appears that he will be given an opportunity to rebuild his career elsewhere.

According to Faro de Vigo, an agreement between Saints and Celta Vigo could soon be finalised and will see the Dutchman join the La Liga club on-loan.

Hoedt was a regular started under previous manager Mark Hughes but he has not played at all under Ralph Hasenhuttl.

The 24-year-old moved to England for around £15m from Lazio in August 2017 but has been out of favour behind fellow centre-backs Jan Bednarek, Jannik Vestergaard, Maya Yoshida and Jack Stephens.
