Saints, have been blessed with a reborn Nathan Redmond. From his demeanor to his play, he has improved drastically since last season.

Nathan Redmond, in the off-season took off to Los Angeles to train and get his mind and body right for the upcoming season to prove to everyone, including himself, the player we all thought he could be was still there.

So far this season, Nathan Redmond has been a star and his shine is growing brighter each week. He has collected 3 goals and 2 assists this season in the Premier League (6 goals in all competitions) but those numbers do not tell the whole story.

dark. Next. Review of Danny Ings’ season for Saints so far

What has particularly stood out about Redmond’s play this season is his play on the ball. He has always had the ability to beat defenders but last season lacked the confidence to take them on.

More from Saints Marching

Now, every time he takes on the ball, anywhere on the pitch, he is looking to make a man miss and open up chances for himself or teammates.

This season he is averaging 2.5 dribbles a match which is up from a lowly 1.8 dribbles per match last season.

That is not the only number that has improved of the previous season. The Englishman is also getting fouled more, passing more, and even making more tackles.

All these signs point towards one thing and that is Redmond being one of the most important players at the club.

Our success going forward will directly correlate with his performances along with the performances of a few others. But as Redmond goes so does the Saints attack.

Not many of the Saints players have the quickness and the ability on the ball to break down defenses on their own so it will come down to Redmond, to disrupt defenses and create as many chances as possible.
