Cedric made a surprise move to Italy in January after Yan Valery won the starting Right-back position when Hasenhuttl came in as manager.
In his short time in Italy, Cedric has not had many opportunities to impress. He has only made 3 appearances in the Serie A, 1 in the Coppa Italia, and 4 in the Europa league for Inter.
His three appearances in the Serie A he has started twice and came off the bench the third for all of 1 minute. He is averaging 2.3 tackles in those performances and a 6.75 average rating.
As for the Europa League, he is not playing very well. H is only averaging 1 tackle per match and has an average rating of 6.37.
Inter fans do not seem super thrilled with their mid-season acquisition of Cedric and do not seem necessarily keen of signing him in the summer.

So what does that mean for Cedric and Southampton? In my opinion it means the Saints will look for other suitors for the Portuguese defender. I believe we saw the last of Cedric in the red and white for the Saints and Yan Valery will be the guy going forward.
Transfermarkt.co.uk has his value listed at £13.50m but I would have to believe he may be sold for less than that if the Saints want to off-load him in the summer. This is all speculation though and for all I know Inter Milan could still purchase him at the end of the season and that will solve this issue quickly.
Cedric over his time with Saints provided consistent play for the club being one of the players you knew was going to show up week-in and week-out. Times have been tough over the past two seasons and the older players seem to have gotten discouraged by that poor spell and it seems like it was time to part ways with Cedric.
