Southampton: When are the seven Saints players in international action?

A break of three week from games for Southampton has come about because of fixture rearrangements and an international break.

Watford playing in the FA Cup Quarter-Finals meant no Premier League game for Saints at the weekend and possibly halted the momentum they had gained since an impressive 2-1 win over Spurs.

The break gives Ralph Hasenhuttl plenty of time to work with his squad ahead of the final eight matches of the campaign and they will have been pleased to see the results of other teams go their way recently.

Seven players are set to leave for international duty over the next two weeks though and it will be important that they return to the club fresh and ready to fight for top-flight survival.

Here is a list of all the senior international action that Saints players may be involved in for the next two weeks, and a brief rundown of some of the youth internationals upcoming too:

A large contingent of representation will also be seen from the club’s academy in the next fortnight.

Each of Will Smallbone, Jonathan Afolabi, Kameron Ledwidge, Will Ferry, Sean Brennan and Seamas Keogh will play for various youth teams from the Republic of Ireland.

Christian Norton joins up with Wales Under-19s, Caleb Watts with Australia Under-17s and Alex Jankewitz with Switzerland Under-18s.
