Salomon Rondon

Another South American attacker who would hope to capitalise on the absence of Southampton’s Danish giant in defence.

Rondon is a physical forward who often puts his own goalscoring exploits on the back burner for the benefit of his team. His presence up top ensure that whichever defence he plays against has a tough time, helping the likes of Almiron, Perez and Ritchie get into the game higher up the pitch.

His goal tally is not what he or Newcastle fans would have hoped, but Rondon has scored a fantastic goal against Saints before, in the shirt of his parent club West Bromich Albion.

The Venezuelan striker will fancy his chances against Maya Yoshida and Jan Bednarek in the aerial duels, which could pose a problem for Ralph Hassenhuttl and his side.
