Saints 3-1 Walsall, League One, 7th May 2011

The arrival of Nigel Adkins at the club proved the catalyst for two years of superb football and a brilliant rise to the Premier League.

Saints ended the 2010/11 season with a comfortable home win in front of their fans to give a signal of what was to come the following year.

A great solo goal from Guly Do Prado opened the scoring, and veteran striker David Connolly made it 2-0 just minutes later.

Walsall replied with a powerful strike from Julian Gray but second-half substitute Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain signed off his time with Saints in style with a special strike of his own to make it 3-1.
