Southampton striker Guido Carrillo could be likely to leave St Mary’s this summer and it appears that he is attracting interest from Europe.

According to Greek news outlet sdna.gr, Olympiacos are keen to take the 27-year-old as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Carrillo is currently on-loan in Spain with La Liga side Leganes, where he has linked up with former Saints manager Mauricio Pellegrino.

When the Argentine joined Saints from Monaco back in 2018, his £19m fee was a then club-record.

However, he was frozen out by Mark Hughes at the beginning of the 2018/19 season and subsequently looked for other options to get first-team football.

More from Saints Marching

He has helped Leganes to La Liga safety this season and has netted six goals in 32 appearances and could still be given time to impress Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Saints’ Austrian boss has mentioned his intention to give all the current players a chance to show their worth, but it could be that the club look to cut their losses on what was a very expensive signing overall.

The 6ft 2in forward has looked a decent threat in the air when he has appeared in the Premier League but failed to score for Saints in 10 games.

Carrillo has been joined in Spain by fellow Saints loanees Sofiane Boufal and Wesley Hoedt, who are both with Celta Vigo.

Jordy Clasie, Cedric Soares, Jake Hesketh and Harrison Reed are also on temporary loan deals at the moment ahead of a summer of change at St Mary’s.

Hasenhuttl is likely to be looking for players that are ideal for his high-pressing football in a 4-2-2-2 system in preparation for a stronger 2019/20 campaign.

He sent out both Cedric and Hoedt when he arrived with the club, and that perhaps gives the clearest indication into two players that he doesn’t want going forward.
