Charlie Austin

Austin could well be on his way out of St Mary’s this summer anyway, but he will be free to talk to other clubs as his contract runs into its final year after June.

The 29-year-old joined Saints from QPR in January 2016 and signed a four-and-a-half year deal which is set to run out in 2020.

He has had a mixed time on the South Coast with injuries disrupting his most productive spells in the side.

Rumours have linked him with a move away recently and a cryptic Twitter post from the striker a little while ago hinted at him pursuing other options.

With a good portion of his senior career still ahead of him, Austin would still be a good attacking option for Premier League or Championship clubs.
