Alastair Case – Nathan Redmond

Tough category, especially given the performances given by James Ward-Prowse, Jan Bednarek and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the second half of the season. That said, my pick has to be Nathan Redmond, who was performing even during the disastrous start to the season under the ill fated tenure of Mark Hughes.

Redmond has taken his game to a new level this season with a level of maturity and directness previously unseen. Although his detractors have noted that he should be more proficient in front of goal, his finishing has become markedly more clinical under Ralph Hasenhuttl’s watchful gaze.

It is hardly surprising therefore that Redmond’s endeavours have received international recognition, with Gareth Southgate recently adding him to the England squad for the forthcoming Nations League finals in Portugal.

Upon his return, Hasenhuttl may look for another winger this summer to compliment Redmond but there is no doubt that the 25 year old will be a big part of the Austrian’s plan for next season.
