Lloyd Kelly

An early link to a defender this summer came when Saints were mentioned in the chase to sign Kelly from Bristol City.

Bristol Live reported that there was strong interest from St Mary’s, but it was eventually Bournemouth who got in first to secure the 20-year-old’s signature.

The reported fee that the Cherries paid to sign Kelly was around £15m and he could prove a very shrewd investment by Eddie Howe.

He is capable of playing as a centre-back and a left-back and is an England youth international.
