The South Coast Derby is nearly upon us and both sides are ready for what is guaranteed to be a tough, physical, and emotional match on Tuesday evening.

With the match kicking-off in under 24 hours it is a good time to take a look at some team news for both sides.

“I will pick the strongest XI that I can put on the pitch because we know about the importance of the game,” Ralph Hasenhuttl was quoted in saying about the match so you can see where his head is at on the eve of his first Derby in charge of Saints.

Injury concerns for the visiting side are limited. Only Moussa Djenepo is unviable and Nathan Redmond maybe, “an option from the bench,” according to the Austrain.

It is a lingering muscle injury that is keeping the youngster Djenepo out of contention for this match and Hasenhuttl says it could keep him out a little while longer.

Fortunately, everyone else is healthy and good to go so we should see a strong Saints side on the pitch at Fratton Park, Tuesday.

What will be something to keep an eye on will be the team selection in the back. Specifically, the skipper’s choice in full-backs for the match. Will Bertrand resume starting on the left or will we see Vokins or Danso there? Something to keep an eye on going forward.

Portsmouth Team News

According to Portsmouth team site, they will be without Captain Tom Naylor on Tuesday as their skipper picked up a knock in their league match against Wycombe over the weekend.

Outside of that, they will also be missing forward Ellis Harrison as he will be serving a one-match ban.

Those are the only injury and suspension worries for the hosts; so, you can expect they will be fielding their strongest team possible as well. Neither team wants to be on the losing end of this one as it means bragging rights on the South Coast for the foreseeable future.
