Jimenez denied opener twice – but rightly

Wolves striker Raul Jimenez twice had the ball in the back of the net in the first-half but was twice denied the game’s opening goal.

First, the linesman spotted that he had controlled the with part of his arm before rounding Gunn, whilst the build-up to the second incident saw Patrick Cutrone involved from an offside position.

Fine margins were seen in both and Wolves fans perhaps felt hard done by, but both decisions were clearly called correctly.

For Saints, both incidents highlighted the hesitance and disorganisation that remains between their goalkeeper and defence despite their overall performance levels being better.
