Home Form

Hasenhuttl is yet to see a home win at St. Mary’s this season, and in fact the last time Southampton picked up three points at home was back in mid-April; a span of six months which means the team is very vulnerable on home-soil.

With this, having conceded ten goals in just the four Premier League games that Saints have played as the host could be considered extremely uninspiring; to put that into context that is 2.5 goals conceded pg (per game).

It is therefore no surprise that St. Mary’s has seen the worst home form of any Premier League team yet this season, with just the one point picked up by Hasenhuttl’s men against a very poor Manchester United side – a 1-1 draw back in late August.

The visitors on the other hand have the 11th best away form so far in this campaign; to put this into context though, the Saints have played host to United who are as low as 16th, whilst Bournemouth, Chelsea and Liverpool all sit 6th and above.

In terms of turning this around, there is not a lot Southampton can do to change their home fortunes, but for one trying to play on the front foot to inspire the crowd is a viable option, in order to get fans morale up; despite it playing into one of Leicester City’s strengths.
