Djenepo trickery and luck – Ings’ poachers instinct

With Saints struggling, Djenepo had a fairly quiet game up until the final 20 minutes against Watford.

Then, suddenly, he produced a moment that woke his team and the St Mary’s crowd from their slumber.

He wriggled to the byline and moved towards goal before touching a pass across for the predatory Danny Ings who, as always, was in the right place at the right time.

Television replays showed that the ball had touched Djenepo’s hand as he beat his marker but VAR didn’t rule the goal out.
