Set-piece Double Delight

After playing a large supporting role in the creation of his side’s first, Ward-Prowse’s good deeds were not finished for the evening.

This time on corner duties, Ward-Prowse found the head of an alert Shane Long. The Irishman headed towards goal only for a waiting Ryan Bertrand to fire home from the six-yard box.

The Left-Back may have made his first goal of the season looks straightforward, but his ability to be in the right place at the right time made it possible.

Whether a preplanned manoeuvre or just quick thinking on Bertrand’s part, the night’s second proved a worthy winner.
