Midfielders

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Centre-Midfielder – 8

Made an immediate mark on the game, winning the ball back 3 times in the first 5 minutes, twice off Zaha.  Continued to be excellent in pursuit of the ball and was looking to move the ball forward quickly and more often.  Was a rock in possession, defended until the final seconds, and captained his side to a third straight unbeaten performance.

James-Ward Prowse, Centre-Midfielder – 8

An all-around professional first half from maybe the most important player on the team.  Joined in to win tackles, broke up Palace counters, and helped out his defence more than once. Hit the frame on his free kick, and delivered some quality corners late on while running tirelessly for 90 plus minutes once again.

Nathan Redmond, Attacking-Midfielder – 6

Visibly more confident from the onset.  Wanted the ball, and attacked defenders with pace.  Committed the foul which led to Crystal Palace’s goal.  Shifted to a striking role when Djenepo entered.  Probably should have been more selfish in his one opportunity, instead put his pass behind Danny Ings.

Sofiane Boufal, Attacking-Midfielder – 6

Coming off injury, Boufal looked the most likely to Saint to score.  Worked himself into the box with ease while twisting and turning his defender.  Still no finishing product in a game that fit his skill set, and exited with an apparent calf injury.
