Sofiane Boufal

Boufal recovered from an ankle injury to start last weekend’s loss at West Ham but didn’t affect the game as much as he would have liked.

That is partly due to Saints not being able to click into gear during the match, but also partly because of a player who has very hot and cold form.

In all, Boufal’s attitude has been great since he returned to the club from a loan spell at the beginning of this campaign.

However, he will need to up his contribution when he starts games though – he hasn’t scored in the league yet this season and hasn’t assisted a goal since November.

With Nathan Redmond and now Stuart Armstrong available to face Newcastle, Boufal and Moussa Djenepo will provide a tricky combination for the visitors to deal with at St Mary’s.

FPL points this season: 31

Points in last five appearances: 6
