Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is unable to get involved with players directly at the moment due to the current Coronavirus suspension that has seen so much sport postponed.

However, that hasn’t stopped him from drawing up extensive plans for next season.

According to the Daily Echo, the Austrian has been creating a training schedule that will see Saints’ youth players training in the same way as the first-team and has also been producing a transfer shortlist for the summer.

Both of these steps can be seen as very positive for the club under his reign.

Some reports have said that Hasenhuttl is likely to sign a new deal once the 2019/20 campaign is decided – and that could even be through cancellation with the situation at the moment.

He’s a manager capable of managing at the very top of the game in the future, so fans will be hoping for a brighter future once more for Saints.

More from Saints Marching

The most vital thing that has seen him fit in so well at St Mary’s is his understanding of how Saints operate as a club, and this is emphasised by the stuff he is working on now.

Creating a plan that sees the academy sides working in a similar way to the senior players will help them to make the step up and settle in much quicker – hopefully allowing more young talent to come through and make an impact for Saints in the Premier League.

The summer transfer window, if it goes ahead, will be vital for Saints and its good to see that targets are being lined up well in advance.

There aren’t many areas of the team that don’t need some sort of work.

Hasenhuttl will want more players to fit perfectly into his 4-2-2-2 system and improve his team’s ability to carry out their specific tasks in each game they play.

He will therefore be working on finding players he knows fit in well and that can either improve options or fill spaces of those who may leave before next season.
