Southampton: Saints transfer target wants to stay with current club
By Marc Walker
Real Betis striker Loren Moron will turn down offers from many clubs including Southampton to stay in La Liga this summer.
According to Spanish news outlet Grada 3, the 26-year-old will ignore interest from Saints, Crystal Palace, Lokomotiv Moscow, Napoli and even Barcelona to stay in Seville.
Saints will be actively looking to add to their forward options given that they have relied heavily on the goals of Danny Ings during the 2019/20 season.
Signing Che Adams was also supposed to add firepower, but the former Birmingham City man is yet to score a competitive goal on the South Coast after joining for around £15m last summer.
Moren is valued at £25m though so it is perhaps unlikely that they would have that sort of money to spend – especially after the Coronavirus pandemic which has cost so many football clubs a lot of finance.
In 89 games for Betis so far, Moren has registered 26 goals and created a further seven for his teammates.

His game time in the 2019/20 campaign has been somewhat inconsistent though and that could have caused him to pursue other options.
Betis will know that losing their main forward would leave them short though with just two other senior strikers in their squad – one of which is former Saints man Juanmi.
For Saints, their transfer plans are likely to be a little different anyway.
Ralph Hasenhuttl is a specialist in working with young players who are yet to make a real mark in the game and who have great potential. Moren being 26 may put him just outside this category.
Younger players with potential will also be less costly for Saints to invest in because splashing out £25m on one player could take away a sizeable amount of funds for a club of their stature.
If the player then flops – like a few signings have done in recent years – then the investment is a bad one that could have implications for many seasons to come.
