Southampton: Dates revealed for Saints’ final Premier League games
By Marc Walker
Dates have been revealed for the final nine games of Southampton’s 2019/20 Premier League season.
Some final details are yet to be confirmed ahead of the top-flight’s return on 17th June, but it now appears that Saints may have a relatively kind schedule compared to other clubs.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side will be back in action over the weekend of the 19th-21st June and will be playing Norwich City away if the previous fixture list is followed again.
Via the Daily Mail, we can see that their remaining matches will be played on six weekends and three midweek dates.
The full list of confirmed dates can be seen below:
June 17 – Aston Villa v Sheffield United, Manchester City v Arsenal (midweek)
June 19-22 – Matchweek 30
June 23-25 – Matchweek 31 (midweek)

What may be in Saints’ favour as they look to move further up the table is the added FA Cup and European games that other Premier League clubs are still committed to.
As we can see from the schedule above, clubs still involved in other competitions will have to catch up on their matches in the middle of the following week.
The Quarter-Finals of the FA Cup are made up by eight top-flight teams: Leicester, Chelsea, Newcastle, Manchester City, Norwich, Manchester United, Sheffield United and Arsenal.
Many of these teams will not be caught by Saints as they are right at the top of the league (or bottom of the league in Norwich’s case), but Newcastle and Sheffield United could end up around them in the table come early August.
The Magpies sit just one point ahead of Saints in 13th, whilst Chris Wilder’s Blades are seventh and nine points better off after an excellent campaign so far.
Whether their participation in the cup will aid Saints is yet to be seen, but Ralph Hasenhuttl and his men will need to be ready to take advantage if any teams around them hit a rocky patch of form.
